Doctoral Center Applied Informatics

The inter-university Doctoral Center Applied Informatics (PZAI) is a joint institution of the four  Hessische Hochschulen für Angewandte Wissenschaften  (HAW Hessen) Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, Hochschule Darmstadt, Hochschule Fulda, and Hochschule Rhein-Main. It serves as a networking platform for bundling research strength in this subject area and enables inter-university cooperation so that for doctoral candidates a suitable scientific environment is provided.

In the doctoral center, research is conducted on the application of scientific methods for the development of solutions and systems for practical problems. This includes the application of computer science methods to existing and new problems from all social, technical and economic areas, as well as research into fundamental challenges in computer science and their interplay with subsequent applications and application subjects.

Office

The seat of the Doctoral Center Applied Computer Science is at Hochschule Darmstadt. The coordination and function of the centre's office is taken on by Graduate School.
