Partner universities
Hochschule Darmstadt has long been cooperating with universities around the world to support the further academic qualification of its doctoral students. These cooperations open up a clear path to a doctorate for those interested. The Graduate School is available as a central point of contact for conducting procedures.
University-wide cooperations
Hochschule Darmstadt has a university-wide agreement with Munster Technological University (MTU) in Cork, Ireland, to conduct cooperative doctorates leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Information on MTU's tuition fees can be found here.
There is a university-wide agreement with Technology University Dublin (TUD) in Dublin,Ireland, for cooperation in research and teaching and the implementation of cooperative doctorates leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). With Technical University (TU) of Darmstadt an agreement is in plcae on joint management of cooperative doctoral platforms.
Department-specific cooperations
The CCASS Competence Center for Applied Sensor Systems at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of Hochschule Darmstadt has a doctoral and research cooperation with ZESS Center for Sensor Systems of Universität Siegen) and Fraunhofer IPA in Stuttgart since 2009.
The Department of Computer Science cooperates with the CSCAN Centre for Security, Communications and Network Research at the School of Computing, Electronics and Mathematics at the University of Plymouth, UK. Hochschule Darmstadt acts as the Darmstadt Node of the network.
Together with the Department of Information Security and Communication Technology at The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway, Ph.D. studies in the field of information security are supervised at the Department of Computer Science.

In cooperation with FernUniversität in Hagen cooperative doctorates are possible in the field of multimedia and internet applications.
