Doctoral Center Sustainability Sciences
The Doctoral Centre for Sustainability Sciences is a central academic institution at Hochschule Darmstadt. Here, engineers and natural scientists from the fields of construction and transport, electrical engineering, chemical and biotechnology, plastics technology and mechanical engineering are working together with researchers from the social and societal sciences, economics and the humanities and communication sciences. The focus is on conducting application-oriented, effective research on complex real-world problems. With this interdisciplinary combination, the challenges of sustainable development, which often transcend the traditional disciplinary boundaries, can be met, as technological developments cause social changes and vice versa.
