The Lem Prize is awarded annually to young scientists whose creative research in science or engineering has the potential to positively influence the technological future of civilization.

Scientists under the age of 40 (for the 2026 edition: born in 1986 or later) who are affiliated with an academic or research institution in Europe are eligible to apply. The prize recognizes a recent discovery or significant scientific achievement from the past three years that is distinguished by its technological relevance, interdisciplinary nature, creativity, and forward-looking approach. Criteria for evaluation include scientific excellence and originality, societal and scientific impact, and relevance to current global challenges.
