Participation in the study programme

All those interested in a doctorate can participate in the doctoral preparation phase as well as all doctoral candidates in the doctoral phase. Registration as a participant of the Graduate School Darmstadt or enrolment at h_da is required in advance in order to take part in the programme.

Details

The timetable is designed in such a way that it is possible to attend while working. In most cases, lectures are on Monday afternoons. Seminars are also held in the form of full-day events, mostly on Fridays or Saturdays. In addition, colloquia, doctoral seminars and writing and research workshops are held regularly. The academies and workshops that take place during the lecture-free periods are mostly of several days' duration.

All participants automatically receive email notifications via the h_da's university information system when there are changes to the courses they are enrolled in. Participation in courses can be individualised according to need, although attendance at the introductory courses at the beginning is particularly recommended.

As proof of participation in courses, a confirmation of participation will be issued upon request, showing the content, type and performance of the course as well as the ECTS credit points that can be credited. The courses can be recognised for PhD programmes in accordance with the applicable doctoral agreement.
